Leading with the brain in mind.

Should you lead with heart or backbone?

Both of course! Through my studies and experience as a leader, a speaker, and a facilitator, two key themes have emerged in terms of leadership impact: The importance of heart and backbone. This framework serves as the foundation for my personal leadership philosophy and teachings. I believe that today’s world lacks leaders who can connect on an emotional level, and who have the backbone to make things happen. Although seemingly opposite, they are necessary counterparts for effective and meaningful leadership. I have learned that when emotional connections are made, people become inspired, loyal and committed. When leading with backbone, accountability and responsibility are shared, and the respect and loyalty of followers is earned. A leader who offers both will engage the hearts and commitment of others to achieve the vision and objectives at hand.
